Sewing Wednesday: Parka Coat Detachable Hood

UPDATE: I FINISHED SEWING THE COAT, PLEASE HEAD OVER TO MY INSTAGRAM IF YOU FANCY SEEING IT. Thanks for reading xxx

While I’ve been documenting my days sewing I realised how slow I’m working at the moment; If I’m honest, I’m a little unmotivated right now. I’m worried the quantity of my work is really lacking and also I haven’t many designs which is what I’m putting my lack of motivation and toiles down to. There is still time this week to do designs so everything should be 100% for next weeks fitting on Tuesday. I also find that I work better during the evening/night, as shown below. I would rather be a morning person but I’m just not… but I do love being up early but late nights and early mornings don’t mix well…

18:00…. Started editing the hood patterns

Some time later…. Started sewing the hood

03:42… Finished for the night.

04.00… zzzz….

*Sew the left extension straight along the front so it lies flat when the velcro is in place.

*sew the bottom flap on last after the lining has been attached, then sew it right sides together and leave a section in the middle to turn it out. Then top stitch both flaps.

* sew elastic loops on the fur strip before sewing BUT after you’ve planned out the placement of the little buttons which run along the facing and lining.

*find the side seams on both of the flaps and then sew on the buttons
